Get on the fast track in the world of indoor gardening with the revolutionary LightRail light movers from Gualala Robotics Inc.
The science is fairly straight forward: Plants need the energy of light to grow. LightRail takes it deeperall the way to the bottom of the plant. The lamp-moving technology allows for more illumination in your garden including underneath the foliage, so more of the plant is involved in photosynthesis. By moving your light source along our unique-to-the-marketplace rail system, your light will reach new lowsand your plants will reach record high yields.
LightRail Light Movers offer a variety of track lengths, time delay and speed adjustments, so you can choose a combination that works best for you.
Q. How does 6 rpm and 10 rpm translate into distance traveled?
A. 6 rpm equals 2.355 feet per minute or 5.09 minutes cycle time 6 feet down and back with 0 time delay. 10 rpm equals 3.925 feet per minute or 3.05 minutes cycle time 6 feet down and back with 0 time delay. 10 rpm equals 3.925 feet per minute or 4.58 minutes cycle time 9 feet down and back with 0 time delay.
Q. What or why doI want to go 6 rpm or 10 rpm?
A. Although there are many variables to consider, typically the 6 rpm is used for shorter runs and lower wattage bulbs say 400 to 600 watts. 10 rpm is designed for longer runs and/or higher intensity lights.
Q. What is the adjustable time delay used for?
A. If you think of a light moving back and forth on a track above your garden you can see that it will clearly spend more time in the center of the rail than anywhere else. The adjustable time delay is used to control the amount of time the light spends at each end of the track helping to promote even growth from end to end.
Q. How long should I delay my light at the ends of its travel?
A. There is so many variables it is impossible to say. We suggest starting at 30 seconds and then let your plants tell you they want more or need less.
Q. LightRail comes with standard track lengths. Do I have to run this length, or can I change it?
A. LightRail is flexible. You can run any desired length.
Q. Do all models of LightRail uses the same rail?
A. No. LightRail3.5 and LightRail5.0 (commercial) use different rails.
Q. How much weight can the rail carry?
A. Our recommended maximum weight capacity is: LR3.5/LR 4.0 35 lbs & LR5.0 100lbs
Q. Can I hang my ballast on the mover?
A. Not recommended. Use the mounting device on your ballast and hang the ballast in the center of your garden.
Q. Can I power the unit from my ballast?
A. No. This will burn out the circuit board.
Q. Can I get replacement parts easily?
A. Yes. Click on products and go to accessories.
Q. Is LightRail easy to install?
A. Yes. Each kit comes with easy-to-follow instructions.
Q. Whats the difference between LightRail 3.5 and LightRail 4.0?
A. Through the use of a DC stepper motor Gualala Robotics, Inc. has achieved a variable speed control for LightRail.
Q. Will the new LightRail 4.0 do everything the LightRail 3.5 does?
A. Yes. LightRail 4.0 is compatible with all LightRail 3.5 accessory items. Also both the drive wheel kit and trolley wheel kits are the same as used on the 3.5
Q. Will adjustable speed be available on LightRail 5.0?
A. No. Because of the massive size and weight the LightRail 5.0 is designed to carry, it will be limited to a maximum speed of 4 rpm
Q. Can I hang a crossbar on a LightRail 3.5 or 4.0?
A. LR3.5?s narrow carriage lacks lateral stability. So even though the weight may not be an issue, hanging 2 lights on a cross bar on a 3.5 creates balance issues that can lead to accelerated wear and tear or catastrophic failure.
