1. Whats the shelf life of Earth Juice/Hydro-Organic Products? Earth Juice liquids, granulars and solubles have an indefinite shelf life. Products containing Mycorrhizae and/or Microbes are generally packaged for use within 3-5 years. Earth Juice Sugar Peak, Sweet & Heavy, Hi-Brix Grow & Bloom may develop sugar crystal deposits that will not alter the effectiveness of the products.
2. Can the Earth Juice Original Grow & Bloom Liquid Fertilizers be used in automated/hydroponic systems? Earth Juice Original Grow & Bloom Liquid Fertilizers are recommended for hand-feeding only.
3. Im hand-feeding my plants with Earth Juice Grow. Do I need to aerate the Earth Juice solution before using? No. Its not necessary. Simply mix with water and feed your plants.
4. My gallon bottle of Earth Juice Bloom has turned thick? This can occur if the product had not been properly mixed before each use. When standing, the heavier organic materials will settle out and the lighter materials and liquid will rise to the top. If the bottle is not thoroughly shaken before each use, the liquid will eventually be poured off and what will remain will be the heavier, thicker material.
5. Shake All Earth Juice Liquid Fertilizer Products Vigorously Before Each Use.
6. What Earth Juice nutrient lines do you recommend for hydroponics? Sugar Peak, Hi-Brix Grow & Bloom, Sweet & Heavy, and Elements are all excellent choices. They are also superb choices for hand-feeding applications.
7. Do I need to aerate my hydroponic reservoir? For best results, we recommend to continuously aerate reservoir solutions with a high quality air pump. It is especially recommended when using Earth Juice Sugar Peak, Hi-Brix Grow & Bloom and Sweet & Heavy.
8. pH of Reservoir Solutions. When using Sugar Peak, Hi-Brix Grow & Bloom & Sweet & Heavy, we recommend taking an initial pH reading after filling the reservoir with fresh solution. Use the system as normal. After the 1st 24 hours, take a 2nd pH reading. At that time, if you believe the pH of the solution needs to be raised, adjust in small increments. Many of our products will begin on the acid (down) side but generally will exhibit an upward movement in pH generally 24-48 hours after they are mixed with water due to the natural elements they contain. Because of this feature, we caution using pH up adjusters during the initial 24-48 hour period. Do not let the pH exceed 6.8. If the pH exceeds 6.8, lower the pH to 5.5-5.9 or to the preferred pH.
9. Do I need to use Reverse Osmosis? When using Earth Juice plant nutrients, we recommend to use good TAP water whenever possible. Rule of Thumb: If the tap water is considered potable and its being applied to the outdoor landscape without any adverse affects on plants and/or turf, it is ok for mixing with Earth Juice.
10. Is it necessary to change my reservoir when using Earth Juice hydroponic nutrients? We recommend keeping systems fresh by draining, flushing lines, if necessary, and adding fresh solution every 14-28 days.
11. Im using Sugar Peak & Catalyst and my reservoir has a thin film mostly around the edges? Reservoirs may develop a thin film on the surface and/or at the edges with using many of our hydroponic nutrients and additives. This is a harmless natural occurring bio-film that is beneficial by-product of the natural components in the formulas.
12. Do I need to add Perlite to Amazon Bloom? No. Amazon Bloom is designed with the ideal balance of air-to-moisture ratio preferred by most plants. Amazon Bloom provides the optimum growing environment for both foliage and flowering plants.
13. Can I use Procoir straight without Perlite? Yes you can plant directly into Procoir without the addition of perlite or Aerorocks (the preferred alternative). Procoir is pre-aerated and the only coir on the market designed for humid environments.
14. Is Aerorock better than Perlite? Aerorock is a better alternative to perlite that provides superior aeration without the dust. Refer to the Aerorock.
15. Can I or should I use Earth Juice Catalyst with other plant nutrients? Yes. Catalyst (Canada Xatalyst) is the number #1hydroponic additive in the world. It will improve the performance and effectiveness of all soil and hydroponic nutrients. Due to the potential of accelerated nutrient availability, use caution when using Earth Juice Catalyst with granular synthetic timed released fertilizers.
16. When should I start using goGnats? Start applications prior to pest infestations when conditions for the development of pest problems are prevalent.
17. I added goGnats, per the manufacturers directions, to several 55 gallon water reservoirs. Immediately after being mechanically mixed, strands of fatty like substance appeared floating at the top. The strands or beads are natural surfactants that, due to various conditions, at times may developed but they will not reduce the product's overall performance.
18. Can I use Hi-Brix MFP during the leaf growth/blooming phase? We highly recommend using Hi-Bix through all phases of plant growth. It contains elements that are beneficial for plants through all phases of plant development. For ultimate results, use in conjunction with Catalyst.
19.There's a thick mass of sediment in my bottle of Earth Juice Bloom, can I dilute the concentrate in the bottle with water ?
Yes ! the formula can be reconstituted by using the following directions:This procedure can be used to reconstitute Earth Juice Bloom and Grow formulas
A. Only use Distilled Water.
B. Do not use more Distilled Water than 25% (1/4 th) of the original volume of the bottle.
C. Add the Distilled Water and shake or stir until the mass of sediment has completely dispersed into the solution.
D. Place a piece of cloth over the opening allowing the bottle to breathe for 24 hours.
E. After 24 hours replace and tighten the cap, shake well and now it's ready to use.
F. May use at 25% over the recommended use rates.
G. Shake Vigorously Before Each Use
20. Solution Guano leaves a residue in my tank? Solution Guano is a micro-fine 1000 plus mesh material and although it is considered Solution Grade it is not a Water Soluble Salt. When using add to a volume of water agitate and use immediately.
Stock Tanks/ Reservoir agitate just prior and during applications. For those using sprayers, bubblers and various other emitters you will need to use emitters that will permit the material to pass freely.
For best results we recommend to continuously aerate stock tanks/reservoirs. Even if thoroughly agitate you may still develop a residue which is primarily Calcium.
To improve the performance of Solution Guano use in conjunction with Earth Juice Catalyst.
21. I open up my bag of Amazon Bloom and white threadlike fungus and mushrooms? Amazon Bloom contains a several strains of Mycorrhizae. The tiny white strands are hyphae of mycorrhizal fungi and the mushrooms are the visible fruit (see Pisolithus tinctorius)
of some of the mycorrhizal strains.
22. There's gnats in my bagged soil? Gnats are endemic and prevalent. They can translocate by eggs or in their adult state
and quickly establish a population. They are generally consider not to be harmful to plants but they
can develop into being quite a nuisance. Please contact your local garden supply store and ask for advice (also see goGnats).
23. I used a syringe for measuring out all of my plant nutrients and my bottle of Meta-K is starting to smell funky? The practice of dipping a measuring and application device directly into the bottles of various natural-organic liquid concentrates will lead to cross contaminations. Add to the fact that syringes are very difficult to completely clean of all residues and sanitize only increases the risk. The results of cross contamination of liquid natural-organic products can lead to the development of malodors. Best to use measuring devices that require you to pour the liquid out of the container and that also can be thoroughly cleaned and sanitize after using.
24. I have bad water! We recommend for those with water concerns to have their water analyzed by a state certified or accredited
lab. That's the only way you will know for sure the quality of your water.
25. I use RO water because our well water is 1000 ppm. But because I'm using RO water, I have to add good amounts of additives in order to balance the pH. Any suggestions? Assuming it is the water and not the piping, etc you may want to try several
trials using various ratios of RO water with TAP water. In your case at 1000 ppm,
start with 4 parts RO to 1 part TAP. The natural occurring bi-carbonates may help
reduce your use of additives.
26. My bottle of Meta-K has sediment? This is normal. Meta-K is derived from a natural minded source of potassium and the quantity of sediment can vary due to conditions beyond our control.
27. Do I need SeaBlast Transition? Can I just mix a solution of 50% Grow and 50% Blooming formulas and get the same results?
Yes, depending on the products you can probably do quite nicely with a blend of Grow & Bloom formulas, but you will not achieve the same type of superior results as with using SeaBlast Transition during this important phase of a production plant's development.
SeaBlast Transition is formulated and designed to be applied during that critical period when there is a need for increased stem growth (elongation) and a boost in the production of buds (flowers). A general solution composed of a Grow & Bloom formulas used together will not provide the all correct elements nor the proper macro-micro nutrient ratios to maximize this phase of a high production (flowering and fruiting) plant's development.
*Earth Juice TRANSITION formulas, SeaBlast snd Sugar Peak , are yet another "Exclusive" development in a long history of "Trail Blazing Innovations" in nutrient technologies from the "Creative Minds at Earth Juice".
28. What kind of molasses do you use in your products ? SugarCane Molasses.
29. I just picked up9Hi Brix MFP (Molasses For Plants). The application amount confused me a bit though. It says for compost teas to use twice as much as the "heavy feeding." I use compost teas almost every watering so would I be using too much at 4 Tbsp (Tablespoon) per gallon twice a week? The use range for brewing teas can vary from 1 tsp to 4 Tbsp per gallon. 4 Tbsp is a general use rate to add to the initial tea preparation prior to starting the "aeration" brewing process. If the tea is properly and completely brewed, can use with each watering/feeding. Now if you tea is rich in carbohydrates and/or potassium I would suggest reducing the rate to 0.5 - 1 Tbsp per gallon.
